Defender Clarisse Abumba II, a member of Eclair filles de Sa’a, is out of the U20 World Cup Colombia 2024.
This is very bad news for coach Hassan Balla and the U20 Indomitable Lionesses. As we inevitably approach the U20 Women’s World Cup which will take place in Colombia, Cameroon will have to do without Clarisse ABUMBA II. The captain of the U20 Indomitable Lionesses and defender of Éclair girls of Sa’a has withdrawn from the competition due to injury.
Indeed, one of the key pieces of the U20 Lionesses defense was injured during the fourth preparation camp which has been taking place since August 5 at the CAF Center of Excellence in Mbankomo. Clarisse Abumba II’s injury makes her unavailable for a period of three months.
The captain of the U20 Lionesses at the last UNIFFAC tournament is forced to abandon her teammates following this injury contracted recently. A significant absence for the team, which will challenge coach Hassan MBALLA just three weeks before the start of the competition. The U20 Lionesses will have to find a solution to fill this void and shine at the World Cup.
